Project Summary
The Cloud HQ Data Center project is a monumental project is southern Mount Prospect. Situated in the South Mount Prospect TIF on the former American Airlines training campus, this project is a major redevelopment of a site that had previously sat vacant. The Village of Mount Prospect and Cloud HQ are working together to make a project that helps better the community and have Mount Prospect be a leading edge technological development driven community.
Village Board Meetings
January 6, 2026: Change order for the Algonquin Road Path & Lighting Project Phase II Design Engineering contract
Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (CBBEL) is requesting additional money for Phase II Design Engineering services as part of the Algonquin Road Path & Lighting Project. The total amount requested is $70,688.00. Funding will come from escrow provided by the Cloud HQ development. No Village funds will be expended for the supplement work.
November 18, 2025: Resolution Approving a Public Improvements Agreement Between the Village and TUR Ventures LLC for Off-Site Public Improvements
Improvements include Algonquin Road Right-of-way improvements and the splash pad located at the Mount Prospect Park District's RecPlex.
October 28, 2025: Motion to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance and adopt an ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6634 GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE FOR A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT AND A FINAL PLAT OF SUBDIVISION FOR THE PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE MOUNT PROSPECT TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS
Proposal: The Petitioner proposes to modify the original PUD to construct a two -building datacenter campus, second electrical substation, mechanical yard, satellite antenna yard, and related site improvements. The amended plans consolidate two of the previously approved data center buildings into a single, larger building separated by a party wall and propose to construct a second, smaller data center building. Both buildings are increased to three -stories in height, as compared to the two-story buildings that were previously approved.
November 15, 2022: Resolution Recommending the Future Renewal of a Class 6B Classification for the Mount Prospect Technology Campus
To incentivize this project to move forward, the Village approved an inducement resolution supporting the petitioner's application for a Cook County Class 6b tax incentive.
December 14, 2021: 1st Reading of an Ordinance Granting Preliminary Plat of Subdivision and Conditional Use.
The Petitioner is proposing a complete redevelopment of the Subject Property which would consist of three (3), 84 megawatt (MW) data centers totaling 566,767 square feet of gross floor area per building. The Petitioner, in conjunction with Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), is also proposing a substation to accommodate the energy use of the data centers.
