Mount Prospect Emergency Management is responsible for the mitigation, planning, response and recovery of natural and man-made disasters within the Village of Mount Prospect. Our goal is to protect life and property by utilizing available manpower, equipment and other resources in order to minimize the effects of natural, technological, or man-made disasters. 

In order to support this mission and goal, the Village of Mount Prospect Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) was developed and is continuously updated in order to effectively improve our disaster management. This EOP identifies our local vulnerability to various disasters and provides necessary framework to secure the available resources needed to address the critical needs of the community. 

In the event that our local mutual aid resources are unavailable, a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will support first responders and assist the community. Mount Prospect CERT is a team of volunteers who have been trained and receive continuous training in various tasks. This team can operate independently and integrates with emergency responders through the National Incident Management System.
