WATER MAIN EXPANSION – OAKTON STREET
Description: This project will extend the Village-owned potable water distribution system to a 28-acre area abutting Oakton Street in south Mount Prospect. The area is presently zoned for commercial and industrial uses. Privately owned, shallow groundwater wells presently serve most properties.
Location: Oakton Street connects at Lexington, heading west to Badger Road and then north to Terminal Dr.
Schedule: Design Engineering begins February 2024, construction bid is let February 2025, and construction completed July 2025.
WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS
Description: Replacement of deteriorated water main segments is a high priority due to water loss from main breaks and replacement of water mains around newly developed locations to meet fire flow code standards.
Location: Prospect Avenue, South Albert Street, South Louis Street, South Pine Street, Can Dota Avenue, Robert Drive and Palm Drive.
Schedule: Construction Start – April 2025 – Construction Completed - October 2025
SEWER MAIN LINING
Description: The contractor will install a cured-in-place pipe line into an existing sewer pipe to extend the life of the infrastructure. This method is trenchless, quicker, and safer than traditional open-cut sewer replacement methods.

FAIRVIEW GARDENS GRAVITY SEWER CONNECTION
Description: In 2024 the Fairview Gardens Lift Station was abandoned and a new 12” gravity sewer was installed on Horner Lane and Central Road connecting the Villages sanitary sewer in the subdivision to MWRD’s intercepting sewer located at the intersection of Central Road and Wolf Road. The Village has lined all sewer mains and manholes in the subdivision, eliminating all infiltration into the public system. However, 96 homes in the subdivision have drain tiles tied to the sanitary sewer via their home’s sewer lateral. The proposed program would disconnect the homes’ drain tiles from the sanitary service lateral thus reducing unnecessary inflow and infiltration from storm and ground water.

RESERVOIR 16 and 17 INSPECTION
Description: Conduct scheduled water tank evaluation and repairs to ensure the availability of INDR-required water storage capacity for the two 1-million-gallon water reservoirs located at Booster Pumping Station 16.
Location: 1629 Algonquin Road
Schedule: Inspection begins in August 2025 and is completed in September 2025.
RESERVOIR #4 REHABILITATION PROJECT
Description: Rehabilitation of the 880,000-gallon subgrade concrete water reservoir and Booster Pumping Station 4. The village uses this reservoir during its daily water pumping activities.
Location: 117 N Waverly Place
Schedule: Let bid February 2025. Construction begins April 2025 and ends July 2025.
DEEP WELL 16 REHABILITATION PROJECT
Description: Rehabilitation of the back-up Emergency Deep Well located at the Villages pump station number 16.
Location: 1629 Algonquin Road
Schedule: Inspection begins in April 2025 and is completed in August 2025.
ALGONQUIN ROAD SANITARY SEWER PROJECT
Responsible Agency: VILLAGE OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS
Description: Installation of sanitary sewer along Algonquin Road from Busse Road to Cedar Glen Drive to increase capacity.
Location: Algonquin Road
Schedule: September 2025 to July 2026
