Home MenuReporting Coyote Sightings in Mount Prospect
The Mount Prospect Police Department continues to receive reports and community concerns regarding coyote sightings in residential areas. In response, the Village is taking proactive steps to better understand and address this activity.
Proactive Village Response
To support this effort, the Village has engaged an Urban Coyote Specialist with a proven track record of successful management strategies in other metropolitan communities. The specialist will evaluate local coyote behavior, population patterns, and movement to help guide appropriate next steps.

Important Safety Reminder
Coyotes are wild animals. Residents should never attempt to approach, follow, or search for coyotes. Observations should be reported only when sightings occur naturally.
