Welcome to the 3rd Annual Mount Prospect Celebrations of Cultures event. The Mayor and the Village Board have long recognized the diverse population that makes up the Village. As a result, the Mount Prospect Celebration of Cultures has been planned as commemoration to honor the many diverse populations that live side by side in the Village.

The Celebration of Cultures will feature entertainment, cultural booths, craft fair and food from around the world.

 

Parking Information

Parking in the RecPlex parking lot is limited. Attendees are encouraged to park in the north end of the Kohls parking lot at 1500  Elmhurst Road, (Elmhurst Rd and Dempster Street.)

Ten Thousand Villages is a free trade craft outlet. From communities throughout the developing world, every inspired design is crafted with love using local materials (usually natural or recycled) and time-honored skills by makers they have known and worked with for years.

Every purchase improves the lives of makers by supporting their craft and providing a fair, stable income.

Ethnic Food 

Small plates will be available for the price of $3, so visitors can try several different dishes.

Cultural Entertainment

Each year we feature entertainment of music and dancing from a variety of cultures. If you have a local cultural performing group and would like to participate, please email hkleinst@mountprospect.org

Cultural Booths

Information, costumes, artifacts and other cultural items can be found at the cultural booths. In 2019 we had 15 cultures represented. If you would like to have your culture represented and want to create or participate in  a cultural booth. Please contact jkane@mountprospect.org
