Section 11.901 of the Village Code requires only General Contractor’s to be licensed by the Village of Mount Prospect before beginning any project.
The following is an overview of some of the contractor licensing requirements:
- All General Contractors must pay a fee of $200 for their registration and license, which is good for 365 days.
- Subcontractors no longer are required to pay a fee for the annual registration through the Village of Mount Prospect, but still must register.
- Roofing, fire alarm/sprinkler, and plumbing contractors must submit a copy of their current Illinois State Registration and state bond to obtain their Village license, which is issued at no charge.
- Electrical contractors must submit a copy of their current registration to obtain a Village license.
Licenses are valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance.
