Do you take pride in your Halloween decorations? Share them with the community! Back by popular demand, the Village of Mount Prospect Special Events Commission is holding the third annual Spooktacular Halloween Decorating Contest! This family-friendly event is open to all properties in Mount Prospect, whether it's your home, condo/apartment, or business.

Unless you specify otherwise, all registered properties will be included on our Halloween Decorating map. This map will be made available to the public prior to Halloween, so your fellow community members can revel in the spooktacular ambiance you've created!

• Most Creative
• Best Decorated Business
• Best Decorated Door/Windows
• Judges’ Favorite
• People's Choice - Voting will be held on the Village's Facebook page from
  October 23 at 10 am to October 27 at 10 am.

Note: Properties cannot win in more than one category. 

Judging

A panel of judges from the Special Events Commission will cast their votes on October 26, and winners will be announced on October 28. Winners will not only receive a yard sign to proudly display on Halloween night, but they will also be presented with a certificate from Mayor Paul Hoefert at a Village Board meeting and get a special shout-out on the Village’s communications channels!

Registration

Registration, running from September 29 to October 20, is free and mandatory. Click here to fill out the form. If preferred, paper forms are available at Village Hall on the third floor.

A photo, or photos, of decorations must be submitted as part of registration. Only one photo will be used on the map and for People's Choice voting, but judges will have access to all photos if you submit multiple. 

Note that decorations must be complete prior to registering.
