Kickoff at Prospect Ave. & Emerson St.

Parade Route Modification

Like usual, the parade will kick off at Prospect Ave. and Emerson St. As the parade reaches Main St./Rt. 83, it will shift to the north side of Prospect Ave.  At Pine St., the parade will shift back to the south side of Prospect Ave. This area will be closed to the public.

In the area of the closure, there will be no parade viewing/seating on the north side of Prospect Ave. due to proximity to the train tracks. For the safety of all, please obey posted signage. There will be increased enforcement in the area to ensure a smooth and safe parade.

The Special Events Commission would like to invite all civic, youth and neighborhood groups, businesses, schools, churches and elected officials to participate in the 2025 parade.

We welcome floats, decorated vehicles, walkers, bikes and anything that provides music and entertainment for the thousands of people who line the parade route.  For businesses, this is a great opportunity to gain valuable exposure in the community.  The parade is televised and is shown on our local cable channel many times throughout the summer months.

Safety Statement from Mount Prospect Police Chief Michael Eterno

Following the horrific tragedy that occurred in Highland Park last year, the Mount Prospect Police Department, along with numerous other law enforcement agencies, have been re-examining ways to enhance security measures at parades and other public events. The safety of the Mount Prospect community has always been and will continue to be our top priority. We are working with other law enforcement partners, the Mount Prospect Fire Department, Mount Prospect Public Works Department, the Mount Prospect Special Events Commission, and the Mount Prospect Lions Club to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to make this year’s parade as safe as possible. This year, the Mount Prospect Police Department will be adding additional security measures and resources in and around the parade route.
