Residents Are Now Able to Request Overnight Parking Permission and Request a Vacation Home Watch Online

Post Date:09/04/2019 3:44 PM
The Mount Prospect Police Department has begun utilizing Frontline Public Safety Solutions online portal to provide an additional way residents can request overnight parking permission, request a home watch while on vacation or register a pet with the police department.  The online portal, which can be found on the Village website or by visiting www.frontlinepss.com/mountprospect is available to all residents.  Requesting overnight parking permission or a vacation home watch can be done through the online portal or can still be done by calling the front desk of the police department. The police department hopes the addition of the Frontline Public Safety Solutions online portal will provide residents an easier and more convenient way to request permission for overnight parking and vacation home watches. The online portal can be reached on any cell phone, tablet, computer or device with access to the internet.

As a reminder, parking on Village of Mount Prospect streets is prohibited between the hours of 2:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. (per Village ordinance 18-1319).  If residents need to park a vehicle overnight, they must contact the Mount Prospect Police Department by phone at (847)870-5656 or submit your request using this online system.  Requests must be received prior to 2:00 A.M. and any requests made after 2:00 A.M. may be subject to a parking citation.  Each household is limited to a maximum of five (5) nights within a calendar month.  For any special requests and/or requests beyond the five (5) nights within a calendar month, residents can contact the Mount Prospect Police Department at (847)870-5656.

Residents who are going out of town and leaving their homes vacant for an extended period of time can request a vacation home watch while they are away. Residents will now be able to request the home watch through the online portal.  Residents may still call the police department to make the request as well.

The Frontline Public Safety Solutions portal allows residents to register their pets with the police department. The Village of Mount Prospect does not require pets be registered.  However, residents who wish to voluntarily register their pet and upload a photo, will assist the police department in reuniting owners with their pets if they are ever lost or run away. There is no cost for residents to register their pets and no ID tag or license will be issued by the police department after registration is completed.

The police department will also be utilizing the Frontline Public Safety Solutions software for its Home Again program.  The Home Again program is a community-wide effort that assists the police department in identifying and returning home those persons, who become injured, lost and/or separated from their family/caregiver due to a disoriented state caused by cognitive impairment. Officers will now have the ability to access information and photographs of residents enrolled in the Home Again program from their squad car computers anywhere in the Village.  Any resident who has a loved one who would benefit from being enrolled in the Home Again program must still register them at the front desk of the police department.

“The use of the Frontline Public Safety Solutions portal gives our residents yet another way of sharing information and contacting our police department, allowing us to provide the best service to the community,” said Crime Prevention Officer Greg Sill.

Any residents who have questions regarding any of these programs or the use of the Frontline Public Safety Solutions portal can contact the Crime Prevention Unit at 847-870-5650 or by emailing policedepartment@mountprospect.org
