The Village of Mount Prospect Department of Community and Economic  Development completed the first draft of the MP2040 Comprehensive Plan, which will soon be available for public review. Community members are invited to attend an Open House on Tuesday, June 30, between 10 am and 8 pm. Village staff will be available throughout the day to answer questions, discuss the draft plan, and collect feedback. This is the public’s first opportunity to review the full draft plan.

Held in the Farley Community Room at Village Hall, this event is an informal open-house format, so visitors may stop by at any time between 10 am and 8 pm. The draft plan will be available for review, and staff will be available to discuss the recommendations and receive comments. Display boards and printed materials will be available all day.

Those who are unable to attend may still review the draft plan and submit comments through the project website at mp2040.com. A 30-day public comment period opens in July, giving residents additional time to review the draft and submit written feedback. The draft plan will be posted no later than Tuesday, June 30, for public review.

MP2040 is a long-range comprehensive plan shaped by public input and data that will guide how the Village grows, develops, and invests over the next 10 to 15 years. It will serve as a community-driven roadmap for future decisions on land use, housing, transportation, economic development, parks, infrastructure, and other matters related to development and planning.

The MP2040 planning process began in June 2025. The Village’s current comprehensive plan was drafted in 2016 and adopted in 2017.
