The Village of Mount Prospect’s Aging in Community Initiative is pleased to announce the return of its free informational event, "Aging in Mount Prospect: What Families Need to Know."
This year's presentation will follow the brand-new journey of a fictional Mount Prospect couple as they navigate the realities of aging. Attendees will see firsthand how a single household manages differing health needs, while learning about the vital local resources available right here in the community.
This important event will offer attendees valuable insights through a unique narrative presentation, followed by a resource fair featuring various community partners. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about available services, ask questions, and gather essential information to support successful aging within the Mount Prospect community.
To accommodate varying schedules and ensure this vital information is accessible to all residents, the Human Services Department is offering two identical sessions:
- Session 1 (Afternoon): Tuesday, June 23 | 1-3 pm
- Session 2 (Evening): Wednesday, July 22 | 6-8 pm
Both sessions will be held in the Board Room on the third floor of Village Hall.
"We understand that navigating the aging journey can present complex challenges, especially when spouses or family members require different types of support at the same time," said Nicole Cooper-Ffrench, Public Health Nurse for the Village of Mount Prospect. "By following a local couple's story this year, we hope to show our residents exactly how our web of local resources fits together to support them every step of the way."
