Fire Department Responds to Fire at Oasis Manufactured Home Park

Post Date:12/02/2025 11:30 AM

On Saturday evening, at approximately 6:28 pm, Mount Prospect Fire Department crews were dispatched to the Oasis Manufactured Home Park on Eisenhower St. for reports of a residential fire. Engine 11, along with Ambulance 12, Tender 11, Engine 12, and Elk Grove Village Engine 8, arrived on scene within six minutes and found active fire coming from the home’s furnace area.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within six minutes of their arrival. Crews remained on scene conducting overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and had not extended further into the home.

The homeowner saw the fire in the furnace even before any smoke alarms sounded and immediately called 911. There were no injuries reported, and damages are estimated at approximately $70,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is believed to be accidental in nature.

According to Chief Wang, “This incident is a strong reminder of how critical it is to have working smoke alarms in every home—especially manufactured homes where fires can spread quickly. As we head into the colder months, we also encourage residents to have their furnaces and heating equipment professionally inspected and serviced. Taking these simple steps can make a life-saving difference.”

Residents are encouraged to visit the fire department’s website page or contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at 847-818-5253 for more information about fire prevention and home safety.
