Police Social Services

Providing crisis intervention, counseling, assessment and referral for Mount Prospect residents.

All of us experience anxiety over predictable transitions in life, i.e. the birth of a child, last child leaving the home, or dealing with aging parents. We also may encounter unpredictable crises in our life such as: the death of a loved one, violence in a relationship, or being a victim of a crime.

During these periods, the fears and emotional strain can be very upsetting. People often recognize professional help is needed, but may not know where to obtain appropriate services.

The Village of Mount Prospect Human Services Department provides social services to assist persons with individual or family problems who are referred by Mount Prospect Police Officers. Services are available at no cost to residents.

Counseling is of a confidential nature and confidentiality of client records is respected in accordance with the law.

Time-limited counseling services of approximately 4-6 sessions are offered to adults and children after an initial assessment is performed and the case is deemed appropriate for this program.
