The fire department does go out to properties to inspect before final
approval will be granted for either a business license or for a building
final.
Business License: a business license is required for every business
that conduction operations within the Village Limits.
Once the formal application has been submitted to the Community
Development at the Village Hall, call the fire prevention bureau to
schedule an inspector to come out to look at the property. Please make
sure to have the business ready as if it will be open before the
inspection. Inspectors will look for the following items as a minimum.
Emergency lights
and exit signs
Knox box keys
Building egress and
door locks
Extension cords and
power bars
Sprinkler coverage
and obstructions
Clearance to:
electrical panels and heating appliances
