CERT Training
Citizen Corps was created to help coordinate volunteer activities that will make our communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to any emergency situation. It provides opportunities for people to participate in a range of measures to make their families, their homes, and their communities safer from the threats of crime, terrorism, and disasters of all kinds.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) TRAINING CLASS

The Mount Prospect Fire Department is offering free 20-hour Citizen Emergency Preparedness Training that will help you, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a local disaster. This training is designed to give you basic knowledge when a disaster strikes. The training will provide a basic overview on emergency preparedness, fire suppression, basic first aid, light search and rescue and terrorism preparedness at no cost. The seven-week training course will begin Wednesday, October 7, and end on November 18. The classes will be held at the Mount Prospect Police and Fire Headquarters located at 112 East Northwest Highway. Because of the high demand for this training, at this time, the class is only offered to Mount Prospect residents. For further information please contact, Jim Miller at the Fire Department, 818-5253.
