Recently the State of Illinois has passed a law requiring the installation of carbon monoxide detectors within 15-feet of sleeping quarters in home that are heated with a fossil fuel appliances. For years that State has also required smoke detectors with in 15-feet of sleeping quarters along with every level of your home and within every sleeping quarters.

Many times it is difficult to decide on what type of smoke or carbon monoxide detector to purchase. There are so many different styles, costs and operations of each detector.
