| VILLAGE-WIDE FACILITIES STUDY -
MODIFICATIONS AT PUBLIC WORKS |
INTRODUCTION
While there were three major reasons for studying the Public Works facility,
the primary reason was the possible relocation of Fire Department vehicle
maintenance from Fire Station 14 to Public Works. At present, the Fire
Department vehicles are serviced at Fire Station 14. The vehicles from all of
the other Village departments, however, are maintained at Public Works. As the
Village began looking to replace Fire Station 14, they questioned whether it
made sense to continue separate vehicle maintenance operations.
The Facilities Study indicates that consolidating vehicle maintenance operations
at Public Works makes the most sense. In order to accommodate the larger Fire
Department apparatus, however, two new maintenance bays have to be added to the
Public Works facility.
WHAT OTHER MODIFICATIONS ARE BEING MADE AT PUBLIC WORKS?
In addition to the relocation of Fire Department vehicle maintenance, the
Facilities study also looked at consolidation of storage and the possible
addition of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to Public Works.
See the Facilities Study for a more in-depth look at these proposed
modifications.
