Mount Prospect is one four communities in Illinois that has a
Landlord/Tenants Rights
ordinance. The ordinance defines the rights of landlords and tenants.
Knowing your rights as a landlord and a tenant is a key to having a good
relationship. The ordinance also provides for the licensure and inspection
of multi-family rental units to ensure that residents have a safe place to
live.
-
Mount Prospect licenses and
inspects Multi-family rental properties. The exteriors, common areas and
twenty percent of the apartments are inspected annually. Single family
homes are inspected on a complaint basis.
Your Guide to Rental Property
Maintenance Inspection explains the inspection process and provides

stores, and public swimming pools. Staff works closely with State and the
Cook County Health Department to protect out food supply and provide a safe
environment in our public swimming pools.
Code Enforcement

its neighborhoods. Maintained homes, businesses, and property preserve
property values. The Residential
Property Maintenance Guide and

regulations. This Property Maintenance Video
