1. A separate application form must be completed for each sign.

2. Submit a scaled site plan of the property for freestanding sign(s) showing landscaping (2 square feet per 1 square foot of sign face) and the exact location of the sign(s) on the lot in relation to buildings, property lines, driveways, and other signs on the lot (4 copies).

3. Supply scaled drawing, sketch, or photo of the sign(s) on the lot in relation to buildings, property lines, driveways, and other signs on the lot (4 copies).

4. Submit construction plans and specifications of the sign(s) including electrical wiring and method of attachment to the ground or building surface (4 copies).

5. For sign(s) other than freestanding signs, submit a scaled drawing, sketch, or photograph of the building wall, canopy, awning, or other selected signable wall area, showing all dimensions and the mounting surface with the sign properly located on the same (4 copies).

6. If requesting consideration for bonus, supply necessary documentation for proof of compliance.

7. Submit $25.00 plan review fee. Balance of fees and inspection bond payable when permit application has been approved.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Completed application and backup documentation submitted to the Building Division.

2. Application reviewed for compliance by the Planning Division.

3. Approved applications reviewed by Structural/Electrical Inspector.

4. Approved applications held until permit fees paid.

5. Sign installed.

NOTE: Sign installation shall not commence until application is approved, fees paid to the Village, and permit are received by tenant or contractor. Installation of sign without permit is subject to the issuance of a citation (maximum $500.00 per day) and/or a penalty charge of double the permit fee.

PERMIT FEES

1. Minimum of $25.00 non-refundable deposit shall be submitted with the permit application. The deposit shall be applied toward the total permit fee upon approval.

2. Freestanding signs (except temporary signs): $100.00

3. Temporary signs: $50.00

4. Wall, mansard signs: $75.00

5. Directional signs: $25.00

6. Off-premises advertising signs: $200.00

7. Awning and canopy signs: $50.00

8. Special events (balloons, searchlight) signs: $50.00
