The Planning Division is responsible for:
- Zoning Review - Reviews building permits to assure compliance with Zoning Code regulations.
- Planning and Zoning Commission - Applications for Variations or Special Uses are reviewed by staff and presented to the board.
- Planning Studies - Staff works to draft long range planning documents such as the Comprehensive Plan and the Downtown Plan.
- Housing Initiatives - Administers the Community Development Block Grant and other housing related programs.

The Planning Division of the Community Development Department is tasked with coordinating the Village's long range planning efforts. These responsibilities include the generation and administration of the Village's Comprehensive Plan and other related planning documents.
