United Airlines has been granted approval to construct a 175,000 square foot warehouse building on the west side of their office campus along Algonquin Road. The facility will be utilized as a backup computer data center and is expected to be completed by in the summer of 2013. United is striving for LEEDS Gold certification for the entire project which requires them to utilize numerous environmentally friendly building designs and materials. The Village will continue to work with United to coordinate the long term redevelopment of their former headquarters property.

New tenants continue to sign on at Randhurst Village. Panera (August), Eggsperience (September), Black Finn (October) and Earth and Ocean (December) Restaurants will be added to the culinary mix this year. In addition, Children’s Place, Parmida Homes, Torrid and European Jewelers will be opening their doors throughout the summer.

Mia’s Cantina Restaurant will be opening its’ doors at 143 W. Prospect Avenue in the downtown district in late July. Mia’s will be owned and operated by a local Mount Prospect resident who has over 10 years of experience with local Mexican restaurants. He plans on offering unique Mexican dishes as well as traditional fare.
