Mount Prospect Police Investigate Bank Robbery

BANK ROBBERY

 
On Thursday, February 07, 2013 at 2:40 p.m. the Mount Prospect Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the Bank of America branch located at 1080 S. Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect. The preliminary investigation revealed that a single male subject entered the bank, approached a teller window, handed the teller a note that demanded money. The teller complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of United States Currency. The subject exited the bank and fled the area. There were no reported injuries amongst bank employees or customers.

The subject is described as being a male, approximately 6’00” to 6’02” tall, medium build wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a full face ski mask with a design on it.

The Mount Prospect Police Department and the F.B.I. continue to investigate this robbery. Anyone with information regarding this robbery should call the Mount Prospect Police Department Investigations Section at 847-870-5654. Additionally, individuals can make anonymous tips by calling CRIME STOPPERS at (847) 590-7867. Tips through CRIME STOPPERS are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest and prosecution.
