Video Gaming Survey
Posted Date: 6/22/2012

The Illinois General Assembly passed Video Gambling legislation in 2009. At that time the Illinois Gaming Board was tasked with creating the operational rules for businesses and machine vendors to which they were to operate under. At the time of the passage of the legislation the Village Board of Mount Prospect passed an ordinance prohibiting video gambling until the gaming board published the operational rules. At the time of the ordinance consideration the Village Board asked for citizen and business input as part of the deliberation leading to the ordinance.

The Village has been advised that the gaming board is expected to publish operational rules in the next few months. Therefore, as part of the consideration of an ordinance establishing a community stance on video gambling the Village Board is once again asking residents and businesses to offer their opinion on video gambling via an on line survey.  LINK TO SURVEY HERE

The survey will be available through July 10.

The survey results will be made available to the Village Board prior to their consideration of a video gaming ordinance at the July 17 Village Board meeting.
