On Tuesday, June 5, 2012, the Mount Prospect Police Department will promote three veteran officers from within the department. Commander John Wagner will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief. Commander Wagner will oversee the department’s Administrative Support Services Division. Sergeant Robert Smith will be promoted to the rank of Commander and will assume command of the midnight shift. Investigator Frank Raus will be promoted to the rank of Sergeant and will join the afternoon shift.
Commander Wagner is a 22 year veteran of the Mount Prospect Police Department. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in November of 1997 and was promoted to the rank of Commander in August of 2001. Commander Wagner is currently serving as the Operations Commander prior to his promotion to Deputy Chief of Administrative Support Services.
Sergeant Smith is a 24 year veteran of the Mount Prospect Police Department. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May of 2007. Sergeant Smith has been assigned as acting midnight shift Commander prior to his promotion to the rank of Commander.
Sergeant Raus is a 14 year veteran of the Mount Prospect Police Department and is currently assigned to the Investigative section. Investigator Raus will be assigned as a sergeant to the afternoon shift.
The department takes great pleasure in seeing three fine officers, who have successfully dedicated their professional careers, promoted to these positions of significant importance.
