The Village suspended the Electricity Aggregation Program that expired August 2017. The Village sought bids to renew the program; however, bids received unfortunately did not insure savings compared to ComEd’s summer rate and projected winter (2017-2018) rate. All resident and small business accounts currently in the program will automatically be returned to ComEd following meter readings in September. No action is needed on your part to revert back to ComEd.

ComEd also has a Purchase Electricity Adjustment (PEA) in addition to their supply rate that can be a credit or charge to a ComEd account holder’s bill of up to 0.5 cents per kWh and the rate changes monthly. Depending upon the PEA amount, the “all in” ComEd rate can range from 6.392 to 7.392 cents per kWh between June 2017 and September 2017 and 6.651 to 7.651 per kWh projected between October 2017 and May 2018.
All resident and small business accounts currently in the program will receive a letter from ComEd titled “Electric Supplier Choice – Confirmation of Drop” informing you that your account will switch back to ComEd. Again, no action is needed on your part.
Please note: no one from the Village or the Village’s aggregation supplier will contact you by phone or in person. All communication about the Village’s program will be communicated through the mail.
Should you receive a solicitation from someone claiming to be associated with the Village or the Village’s supplier, report the solicitor to the Illinois Commerce Commission at www.icc.illinois.gov/complaints or (800-524-0795) and inform the Village.
Also, it is recommended that you not share your ComEd account number to a solicitor, unless you have decided to move to that supplier. Unscrupulous solicitors are able to move your account if they learn the account number.
You may also select your own alternate supplier. Visit www.PluginIllinois.org to find a listing of offers from other suppliers. When considering any solicitation or offer be aware of or avoid variable rates, early termination fees and additional monthly fees.
