Koziol to be Sworn In as Police Chief
Recently appointed Mount Prospect Police Chief John Koziol will be officially sworn in to the position at the Village Board meeting on Wednesday, January 3 at 7:00 p.m. A reception welcoming Chief Koziol will be held prior to the meeting from 5:30 – 6:45pm in the Village Hall Community Room, at 50 S. Emerson Street. The public is invited to attend.
Koziol served as Police Chief for the Village of Palatine for 12 years, from 2002 to 2014, rising up through the ranks of the department, starting there as a patrolman in 1985. He held several positions with the Palatine Police Department including Deputy Chief of Field Operations, Commander, Sergeant and more. Mr. Koziol has a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia and the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville. Since leaving the Village of Palatine in 2014, Koziol has served as a Police Officer with the Village of Inverness.
