Post Date:12/20/2017 8:00 PM
On Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at approximately 7:20 AM, the Mount Prospect Police Department responded to a house in the 800 block of Heritage Drive and another house in the 1700 block of Regency Court for reports of residential burglaries that had occurred overnight.

Upon arrival on Heritage Drive, officers learned that unknown offender(s) entered the residence through an unlocked window on the first floor and removed multiple purses, which contained United States Currency and various credit cards.  The offender(s) committed the burglary while the homeowners were asleep upstairs.

While investigating the second burglary on Regency Court, officers learned that unknown offender(s) entered a vehicle that was parked in the driveway and removed multiple power tools.  The offender(s) then entered the residence through a side door and removed a purse, which contained United States Currency and various credit cards.  There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle or the residence. The offender(s) committed the burglary while the homeowners were asleep upstairs.

A canvas was conducted and officers located property taken from the above burglaries in neighborhood garbage cans.  Neighbors of the victims contacted the police department to report they had video surveillance of suspects making unsuccessful attempts at trying to enter their homes around the time of the burglaries.

The suspect seen in the first video is described as a male wearing a knit hat, a light colored jacket and dark colored pants.  Another suspect seen in the second video is described as a male wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt and light colored pants.

The Mount Prospect Police Department reminds residents to lock their doors and windows of their homes and their vehicle doors, as there was no evidence of force being used to enter either of these two homes. The offender(s) appear to have been looking for unlocked/unsecured back doors or patio doors.
