Police Department Warns Residents of Recent Residential Burglaries
MOUNT PROSPECT POLICE DEPARTMENT WARNS RESIDENTS OF RECENT RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
The Mount Prospect Police Department is investigating three (3) separate reports of residential burglary in the Village which occurred between November 2 and November 3, 2016. The affected neighborhoods are bordered by Central Road to the north, Northwest Highway to the south, Mount Prospect Road to the east, and Main Street (Route 83) to the west. The unknown offender(s) forcibly entered the residences while the homes were unoccupied and removed items of value.
The Mount Prospect Police Department requests all residents be extra vigilant and report any suspicious persons, cars or activity in their neighborhood by calling 9-1-1 immediately. Residents are reminded to lock their doors and windows and are asked to turn on their interior and exterior lights, as this is still the most cost effective form of prevention. To help prevent burglars from targeting your home, make it appear someone is home by leaving televisions or radios on. The Mount Prospect Police Department has increased patrols in the affected area and will continue to do so for the next several days.
Any individual with specific knowledge of these crimes is encouraged to call the Investigations Section of the Mount Prospect Police Department at (847) 870-5654. Additionally, individuals can make anonymous tips by calling CRIME STOPPERS at (847) 590-7867. Tips through CRIME STOPPERS are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest and prosecution.
