Mount Prospect Police Department Investigates Armed Robbery
On Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:57 A.M., the Mount Prospect Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant located at 1705 W. Algonquin Road in Mount Prospect. The preliminary investigation revealed that a white male subject entered the restaurant, approached the cashier and asked a question about prices. While the employee was responding, the offender produced a black colored handgun and demanded money from the register be put into a white bag. The offender then exited the store with an undisclosed amount of United States Currency (USC) and fled to a vehicle parked nearby, leaving the area travelling westbound on Algonquin Road. The restaurant employee was not injured and no customers were in the store.
The offender is described as being a white male, approximately 35 years old, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 225 lbs., wearing a black baseball style hat, black sunglasses, a black jacket, dark colored pants and dark colored shoes. The vehicle used by the offender is described as a white, 4-door sedan.
