Police Department Arrests Woman for Theft
Flower Thief Caught "Green" Handed
Agnieszka K. Wojdyla
On Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at approximately 2:40 A.M., a Mount Prospect Police Department sergeant observed a vehicle eastbound on Golf Road travelling without its headlights on. The sergeant stopped the vehicle for the traffic violation and approached the vehicle. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, Agnieszka K. Wojdyla, 36, of 4237 N. Sayre Avenue, Norridge, the sergeant observed approximately 8-10 flower pots and urns in the back of her vehicle. Knowing the police department had received multiple reports of flowers being stolen from the front of residents’ houses, Wojdyla was questioned about the flowers and she subsequently admitted to taking the flower pots and urns from multiple houses in the Mount Prospect area.
Agnieszka K. Wojdyla was arrested and charged with two (2) counts of misdemeanor theft. Wojdyla’s next court date is June 29, 2015 in room 101 of the 3rd District Circuit Court of Cook County in Rolling Meadows.
The Mount Prospect Police Department has multiple flower pots and urns whose owners have not yet been identified. The residents of Mount Prospect are asked to contact the police department’s Crime Prevention Unit at 847-870-5650 if they have been a victim of theft of flower pots or urns from their house in the past few weeks.
The public is reminded that criminal charges are not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
