Attempted Bank Robbery
On Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:01 A.M. the Mount Prospect Police Department responded to a delayed report of an attempted bank robbery at the Chase Bank located at 1190 S. Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect that occurred at 10:52 A.M. The preliminary investigation revealed that a male black subject entered the bank, approached a teller window and handed the teller a note that demanded money. The teller’s attention was diverted away from the subject and when the teller turned back, the male subject was exiting the bank. No gun was displayed or implied by the subject. No money was turned over to the subject and there were no reported injuries inside of the bank.
The offender is described as being a male black, wearing a dark colored baseball cap with a “C” logo on the front, sunglasses, a black short sleeve t-shirt, gray pants and Nike “Air” gym shoes. The offender was also carrying a blue messenger type shoulder bag.
The same offender is believed to have committed a bank robbery on today’s date at 11:48 A.M. at MB Financial located at 4801 Golf Road, Skokie, Illinois.
The Mount Prospect Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate this attempted bank robbery.
