Police Department Seek Witnesses to Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

MOUNT PROSPECT POLICE SEEK WITNESSES TO PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY VEHICLE

The Mount Prospect Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic accident, involving a pedestrian, which occurred on Sunday, March 22, 2015 on Algonquin Road (Route 62) near Briarwood Drive. At approximately 8:15 P.M., a 46-year old Arlington Heights man was struck in the eastbound lanes of Algonquin Road, east of Briarwood Drive by an unknown vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The vehicle involved left prior to the arrival of first responders and is possibly a dark colored vehicle with front end damage. The Major Case Assistance Team’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team was requested and responded to assist the Mount Prospect Police Department with this investigation.

The Mount Prospect Police Department continues to investigate this fatal accident and requests anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any additional information to contact the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team at 847-870-5656.

Additionally, individuals can make anonymous tips by calling CRIME STOPPERS at 847-590-7867 or texting “MPPD plus your tip” to 274637. Tips through CRIME STOPPERS are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest and prosecution.
