Annually since 1982, the Mount Prospect Police Department has convened an Awards Committee, comprised of Supervisors, Patrol Officers and Investigators to select the department’s “Officer of the Year”. Additionally, the department also recognizes the officers that the Awards Committee felt were in the final contention for the “Officer of the Year” as “Runners-Up”.

In order to be considered for the award, the officers must have consistently shown exceptional performance during the preceding 12-month rating period. The officer’s ability to perform and conform to the standards of a professional police officer is pertinent to being nominated for Officer of the Year.

The 2014 award recipients were honored at the Mount Prospect Village Board meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 7:00 PM.

2014 “OFFICER OF THE YEAR”

INVESTIGATOR JACK BROGAN

Investigator Jack Brogan is a twenty-six year veteran of the Mount Prospect Police Department and is currently assigned to the Investigations Section.

During the award period, Investigator Brogan received one Honorable Mention and three Departmental Commendations. The Selection Committee cited Investigator Brogan’s commitment to being a police officer and all that it entails, including but not limited to his attitude, teamwork, initiative and his keen investigative skills as just a few of the factors that lead to his selection.
