Mount Prospect Police Investigate Traffic Crash Involving a Vehicle and a Pedestrian

MOUNT PROSPECT POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC CRASH INVOLVING A VEHICLE AND A PEDESTRIAN

On Monday, February 3, 2014 at approximately 4:27 p.m., the Mount Prospect Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Algonquin Road (Route 62) west of the intersection with Elmhurst Road (Route 83).

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a male pedestrian in the left turn only lane of eastbound Algonquin Road, west of the intersection with Elmhurst Road. The Mount Prospect Fire Department transported the pedestrian to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The pedestrian, a 71-year old male of Mount Prospect, is currently still at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

A 52-year old Barrington man was the lone occupant of the striking vehicle. He was not injured during the collision.

The Mount Prospect Police Department continues to investigate the collision and requests anyone who witnessed the crash or has any additional information to contact the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team at 847-870-5656.
