Human Services Department - Paid on Call Public Health Nurse

The Village of Mount Prospect Human Services Department is seeking a dependable candidate for the position of Paid on Call Public Health Nurse.

Essential Functions:

The individual will provide Public Health Nursing services to residents of Mount Prospect in the absence of the Public Health Nurse due to personal leave time or an extended illness.  Services include health screening clinics, office visits for the purpose of providing routine IM/SQ medications and basic wound care, health maintenance home visits to homebound patients under a doctor’s order, INR testing and immunizations for employees.

 Educational and Experience Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.  Candidate must have a current registered nurse’s license in good standing with the state of Illinois.  A minimum of two years experience in public or community health nursing and experience in home health and physical assessment of geriatric patients.  Must maintain CPR and AED certification.

 Starting Rate: $25.00-$35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

 Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of pre-employment  screening.
